- Control Cavity Frame routing template for recessing the shape to mount the Cover Plate securely.
With different material options like wood, 5mm MDF, 5mm HDF, and 6mm Acrylic, you can choose the best fit for your project.

Usage Instructions:
- Begin by selecting the appropriate Template Set with the desired shape and dimensions for the routing process.
- First, use the Control Cavity routing template. Securely position the Control Cavity routing template on the back of the guitar body using Double-stick Tape or suitable clamping methods. Ensure that the position allows enough space for easy installation of potentiometers and electronics.
- Measure the thickness of the body and subtract 5mm from the measurement. Add the template thickness to calculate the final routing depth for the Control Cavity. It’s important to leave at least a 5mm thick wall on the front of the guitar.
Eg. Routing depth = (body tickness-5) + body tickness - Use the Router with a 6mm ball bearing router bit. Gradually lower the bit into the wood, making shallow passes until the bearing smoothly glides along the template edge.
- Remove the templates once the routing process is complete.
- Next, use the Control Cavity Frame routing template. Adjust the position to maintain a consistent distance between the Control Cavity and the template in all directions. Securely position the Control Cavity Frame routing template on the back of the guitar body using Double-stick Tape or suitable clamping methods.
- The depth of the frame slot will depend on the thickness of the Control Cavity Plate and the desired Control Cavity depth, considering the height of the electronics/potentiometers.
- Use the Router with a 6mm ball bearing router bit. Gradually lower the bit into the wood, making shallow passes until the bearing smoothly glides along the template edge. Before the final pass, check how the Control Cavity Plate fits.
- Remove the template once the routing process is complete.
- Finally, use the Control Cavity Cover Plate routing template. Securely position the Control Cavity Cover Plate routing template on the material surface you want to use to cut the Cover Plate using Double-stick Tape or suitable clamping methods.
- Use the Router with a 6mm ball bearing router bit. Gradually lower the bit into the material you are using and make shallow passes. Leave two tabs in opposite directions that connect the Cover Plate to the material to prevent possible damage during the final cut.
- Remove the Control Cavity Plate routing template once the routing process is complete. Cut the connecting tabs and clean the spots where the tabs were positioned.
